The Winds

The Wind Down

A sigh of relief…

Bringing upon the applause of the many,

Hear the crack of the bat as the ball sails over the fence.

The gun fires and I are the first to cross the finish line.

Cries of approval echo through time.

The wind down

As the seasons change, time and temperature fall,

A gentle whisper of the falling snow from the heavens bringing a sweet call

Sipping the hot chocolate becomes soothing warmth

Embracing a loved one with care by the fire,

The physical manifestation of completion of mind, body, and soul.

Showing us the next step of our great journey

Assurance of a brighter elevated future.

We Are

We are one,

But our ways seem to gratify none.

One for all, and all for all

Yet no one is there to answer the call.

The few ignited the flame,

Only to be snuffed by the winds that came.

Stop, Think.

Have I lived up to the dream?

Did I earn my spot on the team?

To beg the question.

Class is in session.

Do we deserve what we have been given?

Does it equate to what we’ve taken?

We are one

We are one

But we fight amongst ourselves

How can we call ourselves brothers?

When I’m defined by how high I can jump or fast I can run.

Look how far we come,

But you see there is work to done

What will you do to advance?

The choice is in your hands.

We are one, or we are none.

The Charge

I am here.

I am there,

Lighting to the bulbs with care.

With a spark I light the way.

Light and Dark you must weigh.

Choose

Dark,

The path of greed.

Engulfed by its need

None will satisfy the hunger.

For your heart shall plunder.

Light,

The shine of hope

For it is how we cope.

The energy that drives.

The way we save lives.

The choice is yours.
