The rootless trees are clustered together
They search for everything, except the roots they need to survive.
The windswept trees cannot stand long without each other.
They are blown around by the winds.
With their branches they embrace the trees around them.
One, by one, they fall alone onto the forest floor.
Soon they are only knarled logs on the ground,
but still clinging to each other.
