Wings

Part 1: Begin

How can opposites connect and mingle not realizing what's bound to come?
Faint music in the distance, making me come undone.
I lay as sleep consumes me, having faith in the light ahead.
Only to be awakened by fire, cars screeching, no feeling in my legs.
Then everything is pulled away from me, a new setting starts to unfold.
Rain and thunder drown out my sorrow. How can a heart be so cold?
But then I start painting, a resemblance of a boy.
That music won't stop playing in my head like a broken toy.
I can't stop seeing flames, the sound of being underwater.
What does this all mean? And why does the paint have blood splatters?!
I can't take it anymore. I feel like I'm going crazy.
The canvas full of color, melting and burning as my vision becomes hazy.
Then crows flock over me. The boy's eyes piercing through my soul.
I cannot understand why I am still stuck in this hole.
Now as ashes on the ground, the painting will forever haunt me.
I sketch you this bird hoping it will set my nightmares free.
Like an angel first getting its wings,
this isn't the end. It's among other things.
Because the dawn right before the sunrise is always the darkest,
I guess this is also the beginning of my distress.
