Wings
I gaze at the world
Above
Me
Endless and open
Beyond my reach
A world I yearn for
You can’t go, you can’t fly
…I want to
You’re not meant to
But I must be there!
Stay here where you belong
But…
Only those with wings can be happy
…You’re right
If I had wings
I’d be happy
If I could fly
I’d come and go as I please
If I was born in the upper world
I’d be living my dream
If I had wings
But who’s to say I can’t grow wings?!
Who’s to say I can’t try?!
Laugh all you want
I’ll pay you dust!
Because I belong in the upper world
I am
A child
Of the sky.
