The Wings of a Byrd
Days pass us by without feeling that gust of wind,
Yet we wrinkle and fade as leaves in Autumn.
Our vibrancy ever so drastic and dire,
We strive to last and not end up at the bottom.
I can see you, but who am I,
The polished glass only shows a side of me.
Circumstances change, as do seasons and feelings alike,
My mind has always wondered how to see.
Life itself is the greatest gift as many may say,
Hardships steal a portion of that ecstacy.
People complain and struggle more than they show,
But finding yourself is somewhere in the gray.
Challenging as things may seem,
The chain hasn't broken quite yet.
Let the breeze weather your feathers,
Soar the skies, break through the net.
