Winning the Fight

For once in my life the storm around me matches the storm raging in my soul.

For once in my life the puzzle pieces fit perfectly.

For once in my life I can finally hear the melody of the rain harmonize with the steady rhythm of the raging river.

For once in my life.

All at once I can feel, all at once I can hear, all at once I can see the mountains, hear their silent peace.

For once in my life the tears warming my cheeks are not tears of sorrow,

That, I do not know.

My tears now know and match our mothers tears of joy as she waters our world.

The stars are not above me,

But rather pieces of my soul.

For once in my life I am not fearful of the path ahead of me.
