Winter
The trees stand lonesomely in the cold of the night,
The wind whistles loudly, blowing leaves out of site.
Clouds rest overhead, leaving the earth cold and bare,
Geese fly south, seeming to go nowhere.
Far, far beyond this world I imagine a dream,
Somewhere warmer, and calming it will seem.
Somewhere happy and delightfull, no clouds overhead,
Making this dreadful time feel so dead.
It comes every year, this we know,
It will begin with rain, then turn to snow.
Your fingers will freeze, and your face will go red,
Leaving you wondering, "why did I get out of bed?"
This is a sign, a sign Santa is coming,
Christmas songs will continue humming.
It is a fun time of year, very exciting,
Warm laughter and cheer will be very inviting.
This time of year will seem so far away,
Then suddenly, it sneaks up and takes your breath away!
So, don't be sad , for the cold will soon end,
For spring will be your new friend!
