Winter is coming

Small crystals fall gracefully

From the cloudy, darkened sky

The trees are stripped bare

And a thin, cold coat is laid atop them

The streets continue on empty and endless

And no sign of life exists on the covered ground

Except for that of naked footprints

Naked footprints that hold many stories

Of a day well lived

Empty streets that now hold the

Peaceful afterthoughts of a busy day

Lonely trees that hold the secrets

Of whispered sweet things from innocent hearts

Small crystals fall gracefully

From a cloudy, darkened sky
