Winter Day Acrostic

Winds are stiff and the cold air touches my nose

Icicles hang from the rooftops and sparkle like star

Nightfall comes early and darkens the world

The weather is so very cold

Even the birds migrate, so I also get inside,

Ready to stay warm to get away from this winter storm

Some of the imagery is good. Using cold twice took me out of it a little bit. There are

so many other words that changing it could even help strengthen the imagery. I think

star should be stars but I'm sure you just forgot the letter. It is a really strong poem

and the descriptions definitely make things feel wintery. I really liked the description

of nighttime. The E line didn't sound totally right when I read it out loud. I think it

might be the tense. The rest of it is very strong.

1.The tone of this poem I would say is uplifting/ calm.

2.This poem is speking to the people who also is expereincing the winter coldness.

3.This poem makes me feel comfort because It reminds me of the times where I would bundle up from the cold and be warm.

4.I found "Icicles hang frrom the rooftops and sparkle like stars" stricking because I could really picture that image in mt head.

5.No,I don't think theres any akward places in this poem.

6.Yes,I feel the descriptiveness of the poem helps deliver the poems message good.

7.The layout of the poem relates to what type of poem it is.

8. no, I think the lines and pauses are at good places.

I really love winter as a subject for writing so this poem really speaks to me, you bolded every first letter except for "I" and "E" though you did it in a pattern so this could be intentional. On the second line, "sparkle like star" is slightly awkward as usually the word star would either be plural or have an "a" in front of it, and I think it's muddying the image slightly. Speaking of, I think a stronger image could replace, "the weather is so very cold" while still retaining your message, I think it could really strenghten the poem over all.

I really liked it, glad to have read it.
