Winter Sweater

It's difficult to show acceptance,

but here I stand in your presence.

I learned from my mistakes,

yet my heart still breaks.

My heart is stone cold,

there are things that are still untold.

You kept me warm,

now I'm alone in this storm.

The cold weather is only getting worse,

and like us being apart,

the weather begins to disperse.

The snow turns to water,

the trees being to die.

As the seasons got hotter,

my love only began to say "goodbye."

My heart was no longer frozen,

it was because of that path that I had chosen.

I'm letting go,

I'm learning to grow.

You were my winter sweater,

but now I'm doing better.

Goodbye.
