winter trip
Frozen icicles upon the fir trees,
slippery roads, black mushy sky substance
headlights in my mirror look back at me.
Where the road unwinds in the distance.
Elevated ten thousand feet up high
the logs and cabins fast asleep at night.
So close to the heavens where i could fly
everything at peace no danger in sight.
So i close my eyes for a few hours.
But a semi shoves the sedan off course.
Down we go, ten thousand feet, car power.
Everything goes black, we land hard with force.
Eyes now staying wide open, mouths sideways.
The game is lost to the horrid highways.
