Winter's Misery
OH sweet winter, how you twist the soul, marring the hearts delicate skin.
WE become a hollow shell,no love or lghter to brighten our day.
WINTER roses we become, ptals of obivion black and thorns that scorn friend as well as kin.
IN misery we wallow, the only emotion in this place we lay.
DEEP inside our blackened hearts, icy tendrils of sorrow grow.
SPIRES of hatred that spiral into every open door.
A cage of frost that imprisons our soul, ever guarded by winter’s crow.
THE demon bird whose wings of creeping shadows damn us to a haunted shore.
BUT don’t fret dear reader, you won’t care.
YOU see us every day and never hear our plea.
BECAUSE you cannot understand our empty voices and vacant stares.
STOLEN by the demons that lurk inside you and me.
INSTEAD of helping you drown us in misunderstanding and pity.
YOU ask us to cry out but we cannot speak.
THE world thinks we are few, only we could fill a city.
BECAUSE this world is surrounded by winter and has become weary and bleak.
