a winters walk

a cold day

a quick step

pounding of foot to floor

arms on my back

a floor to my face

a foot to my gut

agonizing cries from my mouth

words in my head

peace and chaos in my heart

another day of life

with the word of those before me;

pushing onward and onward

another cold walk

a chill down my spine

word in my head

"live on"
