Winter's Warmth

Location

Lift that veil and kiss the facing lie,

A single drop of hope will leave your eye,

For your dreams all is lost,

Let your heart be caught in frost.

The perfection you require will exist in no lifetimes,

The American dream has lost its gleam so it seems,

Winter's grip has slowly tightened as the years slipped right by,

You dream beyond reality but the fall back down,

right back down,

it will be rough,

as all that care live in frozen recluse.

Your winters coming, coming fast,

Just when you thought the blizzard past,

you weren't prepared for imperfection,

Now you think your heart lay cold in ash.

Your winters coming ,coming fast,

You see your dreams have all been slashed,

It isn't them, it's just you,

Now your heart’s frozen in two.

Go on keep telling yourself,

that life will get much better,

but in your heart you know that it's not true.

You wanted all you want it all,

felt it brush the tips of your fingers,

now  you're helpless, breath all frozen,

and now you know it was never there.

So you see what we see,

In your dream there's no reality,

And believe me,

your life won't be so happily ever after cause,

your appearance isn't what defines you,

you're settling for less,

Even though it's more than you could ever hope for.

Your winters coming, coming fast,

Just when you thought the blizzard past,

you weren't prepared for imperfection,

Now you think your heart lay cold in ash,

Your winters coming ,coming fast,

You see your dreams have all been slashed,

It isn't them, it's just you,

Now your heart’s frozen in two.

The warmth slipped out from your heart,

as you slammed the doors now you're on all fours,

screaming at the sky to unlock hope.

It shouts right back howling and growling,

condemning your life to chilling misery,

you drown in the ice as you hear the voices sing:

You wanted all you want it all,

felt it brush the tips of your fingers,

now you're helpless, breath all frozen,

and now you know it was never there.

Your winters coming, coming fast,

Just when you thought the blizzard past,

you weren't prepared for imperfection,

Now you think your heart lay cold in ash.

Your winters coming ,coming fast,

You see your dreams have all been slashed,

It isn't them, it's just you,

Now your heart’s frozen in two.

Winter's Warmth seems to be absent,

the chill flows over you are slipping under,

you are a broken human being with no places left to go,

where did your time go,

you have no one to call your home.
