Wise Men Dream

Why won’t it change color?
I try so hard
To scrub off the darkness
That will never go away
It brings so much trouble and shame
They stare at “it”
Define me through “it”
But I am more than that
More than a color
Sometimes I wish it would go away
But then the sun shines on it
Warming it
Reassuring me someday
A dream from a wise man
Will change it all one day
A dream what will mix white, black, and brown
Into equal people with feelings
And colors will not define us
I know that man will come someday
To save us all with his dream
