I wish that I was what you wish me to be A girl who follows someone else's dream To be someone living a different life Who has things she could easily get I wish that I could be her That girl who doesn't fight, demand, or choose A girl that would follow your every word And do what you say, and choose what you would To be someone living in a dream of dreams Where I please those around me Never ask, question, or think about me To be something someone else could see But my dreams are a failure My hopes are too far away My wishes keep dying When I am under your spell I choose the wrong things And fight for my dreams I spend way too much time asking Who I really should be If I could I would be all of them Split up for everyone to have And complete all those wishes To make everyone proud But I have this life And I choose my own roads I live my experiences And I learn on my own I let myself dream And let my heart wish I live to be free After all I am just me
