Wish Upon a Star

Once I wished upon a star

For you to never leave me,

But you were gone too far

To ever hear me.

I wished upon that same star

For you to be near me.

Once you were gone

I cried for far too long.

I was wrong to doubt that you didn’t hear

Because you have always been near.
