Wishful Thinking

If only life was perfect,

If I could go back in the past and erase my bad memories,

Relive those happy moments,

And forget my regrets.

If only people were perfect,

If I could believe everyone and turn to them for help.

If it was possible to trust everyone who says they care,

If only they meant it.

The phrase "I love you" is used too much,

And overplayed to the point that you can't trust anyone who says it,

Unless they prove themselves.

If only heartbreak was impossible,

Then relationships would last longer.

If only life was perfect.
