Wishing

Would that you’d forget your fate

So that I remember mine.

Would that I were never late

And you always in line.

Sadly, though, the story goes,

That you remember all

So I do not- No one knows

To take the time in thrall.

I wish that I could be the moon

And so, reverse the tides.

But gloom and light will be here soon

And life in me confides.

So it is that through all time

I speak to you through rhyme.
