That From Within
Everyday I thought of you
Everyday I saw you
Everyday I believed in you
But why couldn’t I acquire you?
It was the exhilaration
the blindness that came with
the merge that followed
the clash from within
Or that’s what I believed
Or that’s what society believed
That made me succumb losing you
The stabbing pain coursing through
Yet I believed
Yet I persisted
Yet I was told
that it is not about the exhilaration
yet about the imperfection from within
How are you to fly without wings?
How are you to conquer without lies?
None of that is possible
So I stopped fantasizing
To gain discipline
To gain patience
To gain focus
In order to achieve you once again
Now I stand
Now I feel
The utter elegance
Of what life was meant to be
Something wrong with this poem?
