Without

One thing I couldn't live without

My mind jumped to him, then my mom, then my best friend.

A loaded question which challenges what you thought you knew.

Underlying theme? Relationship

Social beings we are, so we crave, rave like banshees in the woods.

Connection rips us apart, glues us together, stretches us to our limits,

ensures we snap back, the same but a little altered.

Every new stretch, bend, and break molds us into who we are,

making sure we never know who we are going to be,

forcing us to look back with fond forgetfulness at the ones we once were.

So in the end, the answer is relationship.

The warmth which blooms in your chest when they hold you close,

the feeling you have right now thinking about them.

Not caring if they bend you until you break because even if you're broken,

at least you were theirs.
