Without Cadence
Sound sweeps through me
Drumming on my ears as its
Pillows pervade my mind,
Enveloping all of me in a
Gentle, rhythmic embrace.
The world around me degrades
Into an insignificant oblivion until
Nothing else exists in the world.
Me, alone as the sound rocks me
To and fro with its tempo.
One, two, three, four…
I am no longer a fragile human body
But a lone consciousness
Floating free, and floating forever,
Without cadence.
