Without Family?

If I was to leave the earth what would I miss the most?

the bickering between me and my sister

the food that my mom only slightly burns

or maybe my dad telling us to clean our rooms

All would be missed

my family is my world

without the world, our location would be gone

without my family, were would I go

College is supposed to be a celebration

being torn apart from our family isn't celebration but instead segregation

Family is what keeps me grounded

Family is my source of comfort

Inspiration comes from outside of our comfort zones

Inspiration is found in what we love most

but can it only be found when we are separated from what we love most

Without my family, I don't know what I would do

next year, I'll be on my own

and I will face the terror that lies ahead of me and find my inspiration

Will I break under pressure and crack

or will I thrive and always remember my family

Once we turn away from what we love most,

will we only then find the inspiration that we were looking for the whole time?
