Without My Mind

The only thing,

that I need in this world,

is me.

My mind,

my thoughts,

my feelings,

my knowledge.

Without it, I am not alive.

I couldn't reminisce about happy days,

or imagine what it would be like to be held in their arms one last time,

I wouldn't be alive,

without my mind

Yet sometimes, I may wish my mind weren't there.

when the hopelessness hits,

and the sadness and lonliness

But I wouldn't be alive,

without my mind.

My mind is what makes me human,

and I wouldn't ever want to live without it.
