Without Sarcasm, Please
[What do you want?]
A French cruise liner
And a pilot’s degree;
The only way to avoid questions
Is to take to the sea.
Or to take a long flight
And never touch down;
Any daringly drastic
Means to skip town.
[Without sarcasm, please.]
I want many friends
And a huge family
To pinch me, to play with,
To ask questions of me.
And a billion dollars
To buy a nice place—
Somewhere in the Alps,
In a forever-hidden space.
[Without sarcasm, please.]
I want, like all others,
To be my own self;
Just enough joy and money
To maintain mental health.
Many more chances
To be proven right or wrong;
A fully-lived life,
If hopefully not long.
I want one thing more
So I may be at ease:
The freedom to speak
With sarcasm, please.
