Witness

You sit alone in a car. You wish someone loved you. You remember when he did, a beautiful boy with golden hair and golden smile and golden eyes. You didn't sit in the car alone. You saw him with a woman. He was still golden, but he wasn't yours. You turned and walked away. You're as beautiful as he said. He looked at you, a smile in his heart, a longing in his eye. Someone loves him. It isn't enough. He wishes it was your car. Someone asked him if he still loved you. He lied. He said no. Someone only asked once. I knew the truth. He'll never love me like he loves you.
