The Wiz, the good witch, and the sixth grade play
I met the Wiz in sixth grade
I got a bad cramp that fateful day
"extend your leg it'll be okay"
I was the good witch of this play
and I placed my trust in the wiz that day
she was the first adult to know my name
know my face and know my place
and every day after class
little treats would await
A second mom I would say
And six grade came and went
eighth grade was a around a bend
I applied to the school of my dreams
my only regret was you couldn't come with me
The stars didn't align that day
everything happens for a reason you would say
Junior year wasn't great
depression ate at me everyday
stress and anxiety became my friends
but your magic drove them away
Now its twelth grade and college is near
I went back to see you and you whispered in my ear
my little Glenda from the sixth grade play
You were so cute and your a grown woman today
I may have been the good witch of the play
but magic is something you hold in your name
and without you
I wouldn't be where I am at today
