Woe is He Who Desires

Woe is He

who so sought

the pleasure of attention

Woe is He

who so desired

everyone's affection

He who wanted

to please the crowds

He who wanted

to appear

never down.

Praise to him

who knows all humility

Praise to him

who recognizes

lack of personal ability.

Praise to him

who feels for others

Praise to him

whose own feelings

he does not smother.

Praise to him

who knows his own

faults.
