The wolf crossed the woods silently,
For he was stealthy to capture his prey.
The deer he found was killed was killed so violently;
The prey didn’t know it was his last day.

The wolf and the pack consumed all the flesh,
The cubs got the choice cuts; they were still small.
The adults were next and the meat still so fresh.
They craved it so much they had a slight brawl.

After dinner the pack got together.
It was time to howl at the beaming moon.
It was a great night with superb weather;
A great way to end a great day in June.

Now was time for the whole pack to recumb.
All of them had many days to come.

Wolves have been my favorite animals since a very young age. Recently I did research on wolves and saw that the population of wolves has decreased significantly due to pollution and the destruction of their homes. This poem was written to show how they few continue to live, hunt, and continue to power through.
