Woman First, Soldier Second

Packing for a trip with my precious belongings in one bag.

Some soldiers bring tobacco, others sleep aid to avoid jet lag.

I am not afraid of the unknown,

and less worried about the different time zone.

I have brought the one thing I cannot be without,

if I do not have hair gel I will surely throw a pout.

Males roll their eyes at the waste of space, or so they reckon,

Embarrassed I sneer "I am a woman first and a soldier second".
