The Woman That I Will Be

An empty room becomes full

Men in suits with serious faces file in

One by one

They take their places at a long, round table

"Can you get me a coffee sweetie?"

One man calls to the woman at the head of the table

Assuming she is an assistant or secretary

"I'm waiting for head of the marketing department to arrive"

He reasons

"I'm sorry sir, but she's already here"

The woman replies

As a room full of men feel second-hand embarrassment

For the one man

Who could not see that this woman

Who had fought her way to the top

Was just beginning to lead their meeting
