Woman on the Street

Tell me girl, what is your name? Perhaps I know your face by your fame. "Not I," said she, "look deeper than skin. Perhaps you shall see my hopes and my sin." I don't understand, please make this more clear. Please, clear this fog from my air. "Look into my eyes, young girl. Only then will you see my pearl." Your pearl, please lady, You really are making me giddy. "No need to fret, but I'll make you a bet." Well, go on, mistress, explain to me this. "I predict you will lose this game. This game of predicting my name." And if I do succeed, You owe me one deed. "Fair enough," the lady lead to proceed, "I will give you whatever it is you need." Okay, well, could you give me a hint? And please, not one as useless as lent! "Well, to start, that would give you what you need. We will no longer be able to proceed." Well that's just not fair! I am done, you wretched old mare! "young girl, what do you mean? I realize I was being quite lean-" You told me you'd give me what I needed if i won! You cheated; this is no longer fun. "Young lady, now you know this is not true. I told you I'd reward you before we were through." I guess you did say what I'd need you'd provide. Though I notice now your meaning did divide. "Once more, instead of the jester, you've asked of the king, But you must know one thing could have multiple meaning." I do now know this, but I still do not know from where you came. Please, tell me, lady, what is your name? "I need to know first if you've learned to look deep. To walk in new shoes before your outlook becomes steep." Of course, my lesson has been learned. It is the other cheek I have finally turned. "Well I'm sure it was you fate longed for me to meet, but my dear girl, I am simply a lady on the street."
