For the Woman Who Taught Me to Dance

Hand in hand, she tells me she is proud

"Break a leg," she says as she gently pushes me to the crowd

15 years of my life, I spent in her tiny studio

Until I wore the cap and gown, holding a golden glow

Celebrating triumphs and overcoming the problem

She was always there, encouraging me to blossom

She held me up when I wasn't able

And for that, I am forever grateful
