In the Womb

I am reaching out in a world of darkness

I twist around, fumbling at the cord, it holds me close

or else, I'd fall

I open my eyes, for just a few seconds

but it is boring, so I close them again

Sometimes I hear things

hopes and dreams,

flying like invisible clouds around my body

I catch them and because I am stubborn

I don't let go.

It is life, the only bits of excitement in this dark, warm home

There is so much space

I keep reaching

I keep exploring, until I find the light
