The Women that America Borrowed

Latinos

Africans

Europeans

Asians

They came tattered

Worn and dusty

Seemingly worthless; America borrowed them

Torn pages

Ear-dogged pages

Stained pages

Bent at their spines

No one would read them

Filled with stories

America borrowed them

In them, contained ideas on the arts

Science

Literature

Philosophy

America borrowed them

From them, America recited their stories

America borrowed them; they were never returned
