Women of the Lost

You no longer have proprietorship You have strayed from your body being a temple And chose to lease it out for rent Used at society’s discretion Women of the Lost You have found survival in the worst conditions The rotten stench of love lost Embedded in the burial grounds of your heart A smell so pungent you can taste it A pain so deep etched in the depths of your soul Your mind featuring your body, collaborating and show cased So come one come all Each day as it is put on display Masking your face with a smile The words you wish could leave your lips Censored by your crimson lip stick Blinding your perception with eye shadow And heavy is the load to opened your eyes to reality Burdened down by the long lasting voluminous mascara Striving to hide your scars with concealer But you do not realize, these are the battle scars that record the victory won Your heavy artillery of make up only conceals the real her You cake on the lies of your fate Not cognizant there is beauty in your cracked foundation Turning into a covered girl Giving into the world Searching deep into your eyes and I can see The love and passion you had inside The things you could have done The ways you should have tried Looking deep into your eyes And I see the lies unfold Because you shield your eyes with contacts blocking the windows of your soul For brighter dreams and aspirations Your cloak of righteousness comes with alternations By the time it’s handed down it to tattered and frayed Resorting to cut of clothes Leaving no story of your journey to go untold Wrapped so tight cutting off the circulation to your frontal lobe Your structure supported by high misguided hopes But even higher heels Women of the lost From beneath the trenches you must rise above Your worth exceeds what is visible You are able to achieve the unthinkable Stop subjecting yourself to relationships based on the physical Women of the lost Search for the power you lost Demand respect at all cost Women of the lost Protect yourselves From the lies that are impregnating your mind Reproducing a lust you named “love” A pre mature birth But fully developed before its time Women of the lost Grab hold of each other and “lift as you climb” Knocked off your pedestal time and again But step back up Because your strength is enduring Women of the lost Let the wisdom of your journey pollinate the ground For those who rise after you And through the concrete your roses can grow without damaged pedals Women of the lost Stand your ground Women of the lost reclaim your crown Women of the lost Return
