wonder

here is the stardust,

you say,

arms open wide with

anticipation,

love pouring down

like a nor’easter.

with every step,

you breathe light

into me,

your hands gold

from sunset skies.

we dance on the beach

with a scarf made of

tenderness,

and you wrap your arms

around my existence.

you’ve carried me into the

night, and the stars

have come

to blow us away.

you are the moon,

you say,

and I am the night.

I think about how we love

so desperately,

as if hibernating to get through the winter.

I remember you said

I was the moon,

and no night could survive without me.
