wondering gets me nowhere

each day I think about
what you would say if
I told you
'I miss you.'
how you would react if
I grabbed your hands and
looked into your eyes
like we used to do.
where your arms would be if
i wrapped mine around you
and hugged you tight
and didn't let go.
what would you think
if i whispered
ever so softly
'I still love you.'
but I guess i'll never know.
