Wonderland this way...

The door is closed
It's quiet in here
The only sounds
Are my shallow broken sobs
And the soft splat
Of my tears as
They fall against
The hardcover of
My book
Alice never had
To deal with
The yells and screams
As her parents held
Yet another verbal
Boxing match that
Would go on
For 30 rounds
Until the front door
Slams
Signaling His departure
Alice didn't know
What it was like
To sit in her
Room alone with
Her hands clamped tightly
Over her ears
To try to muffle the sounds
Of Their shouts
I wanted to
Be like Alice
To wander off
To wonderland
Running happily after
The rabbit and jumping
Down the rabbit hole
I wanted to talk
With the Mad Hatter
And the March Hare
And this young
Girl who wanted
To be like
Alice found
Herself stuck in the
Terrible confines of a nightmare
Damned to repeat it
Until someone
Comes to rescue her
Save her and Mom
From this Hell
They were
Living in
Someday
Someday
Soon
She'd escape
To her own
Wonderland
Her and her mother
And they'd live
Happily there
Until the ends
Of time...
