Wonders of the Heart

Often I wonder

Who I might be.

Kindness?

Intelligence?

Is that what others see?

Do I inspire,

Light fires,

Or touch people's hearts?

I want to be an individual--

Play an intricate part.

How would I do it?

Where would I start?

I'm sure it begins somewhere deep in the heart.

Maybe there's a spark?

Maybe it's a switch?

What if I just take a moment to sit.

I am kind

And smart

And strong

And wise

I can stand up for a cause

Or go with the tide

I'm more than a thought

And more than a time

I am an individual like no other

I am one of a kind.

I am me.
