This Won't Hurt a Bit

Do you need someone to hold to hold your hand through this?
Lace your fingers with mine and form a lattice
So you won’t be tempted to break away when this needle starts to burn
I’ve threaded it through with the thickest wire for you
To wrap around your bones, to help you stay strong
How else will you stand up to what you’ve done wrong?
Squeeze my hand until we both lose all feeling
It’ll help keep you from screaming
And screaming is still better than bleeding
I’m trying not to make a mess here
So just hold still while I run you through, dear
I’ll wrap this metal around your bones to hold you up
You look as though any second you might drop
But while this night is melting past you
And you’re just acid burning through time
Know this is not the place to sit and think
What will become of me? You’ll hardly cease to be
Some choices are always wrong, and some are bad
I’ll sew your spine up straight
You’ll have to learn to face your regrets
So take my hand
Hold your breath

This won’t hurt a bit
