Won't Say No

Obstinate....

I passed "determination"

A long time ago.

Carry on, carry on.

Sleepless nights,

Doors closed against the interruptions of three sisters,

No spending money and little for tuition.

Carry on, carry on.

Obstinate....

Badger fighting mountain lion for scraps.

Wolf pack harrying the sick caribou for thirty miles.

Carry on, carry on.

Challenge....

No giving up nor long respite

Fighting tempting diversions while making tough decisions.

Carry on, carry on.

Down the stretch

AP courses, on-line college studies while

Trying to golf totally in the 70s, finally Teen World Cup Golf Member.

Carry on, carry on.

Challenge....

Maintain honor roll while doing volunteer community work

And graduate at 16 in two and a half years in high school-done!

Carry on, carry on.

Give me the near impossible;

I will my way, obstinate about beating every challenge.

"Houston, I will have no problem."

Carry on, carry on.
