Into the Woods (Free Verse)

My heart raced into the woods

Looking back I could see the sun rising softly

Oh how gorgeous the sight of the sky

I kept running deeper, deeper, deeper in the woods

At the end of the woods was a mirror

Standing there I gazed into my reflection

I could see my soul

Then the mirror cracked, and I ran the other way

The sky turned darker

So I laid my head to sleep as the night hovered over

Morning came too soon, and I went back to the mirror

The cracks disappeared
