The Word

Location

She wakes up to a new day
dreading the sun
despising her day, hating her life

She enters her school doors
with the stench off judgement and pain floating off her fellow students
The horror she feels

She watches her peers enjoy life
As they torment her uniqueness and swear it is a flaw

She sits in class
Her teacher not knowing what to say to her as the kids snicker behind her back
She pops her rubber band on her wrist

Three o'clock hits
She runs home
Opens her door
Her mother is first to greet her with a hardy "Bitch"
Her father is next with an act of "love"
She runs to her room, locks the door

Today is her day
She will finally be free
Free from the ridicule
The despair
The pain
The hate
However she doesn't feel pain
She will be in heaven
Where people understand her
Away from the hell she lives everyday

As she ties the rope around her neck
She utters one last word as tears ooze down her face
No one can hear but her ..

I wonder what that word was.
