The Word

The most precious items

To survive

Are actually not items at all.

No cell phone, skinny jeans,

Lip gloss or car.

Materialistic objects come and go.

The Word is all I need

To survive.

It strengthens my mind,

My heart and soul

I take it with me,

Everywhere.

Think I can’t live without it?

A tragedy, a blessing,

In good times and bad

The Word is all I need.
