pages transformed into a canvas
with metaphors bold and bright in the stanzas
Personification can be seen in the background palace
Exquisite and vivid words replace seen figures
yes! it's possible to have a page long picture

no matter how young or old
with poetry
pages turn into counselors,
pens into microphones
scrambled thoughts into crystal clear words
any and all voices can finally be heard

Poetry is music with tone and rhythm as the beat
formed into harmonizing songs that sound sweet
and filled with fantastic figurative language
Poetry can be the food that unhealthy people need to eat

students take out your notebooks, you're pens
here comes a distinct poetic point of view so carefully listen
because the words just may be the water your parched ears needed so take heed
these lines could be button that open your eyes to see the forest for the trees

Poetry is an instrument
that any ammeture can learn to play
i'm a self taught musician, i found my own way
Poetry allowed me to put my ideas on the big screen
I'm very grateful for this gift God has gracefully given to me
I can say things in rhyming lines that my brain couldn't find the time to emit
and I love every stanza of it

grab a pen and paper, the clay’s in my hands
and with this sculpture, I show the people what I see
so hopefully i can get them to understand
what it's like to see through the the eyes of me

Poems allow you to give the audience a pair
of your shoes for a while to wear
and in the process soak up the feel of the soles
that knowledge is something they will never be able let go
