Wordly Obsession

Playing with her toys and picking at her food Crying out to mommy and running around in the nude Just a silly baby girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so small she never knew Climbing trees in the yard and learning how to skate Scraping up her knees and staying up too late Just a silly little girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so active she never knew Chasing all the boys and sleepovers with her friends Ice cream late at night and following all the trends Just a silly pre-teen girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so made up she never knew Putting on her make-up and shopping at the mall Hanging with her friends and gossiping with them all Just a silly teenage girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so thoughtless she never knew Accepted into college and partying every night Experimenting with drugs and living a fun and carefree life Just a silly youthful girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so lost she never knew Beginning her career and walking down the aisle Buying her first house and planning for a child Just a silly adult girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so busy she never knew Her kids are growing up and she's enjoying being a mom She thinks about her past and it helps to keep her calm Just a silly full grown girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so focused she never knew Sitting in her rocker and sewing up her sweater She is slowly getting weaker and there's no hope of getting better Just a silly older girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but so forgetful she never knew Lying in the hospital and too sick to say a word She knows she's on her death bed and still she never heard Just a silly dying girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world but now fading she never knew Now she lies there in her coffin and she's buried beneath the ground Her body withering away and she never heard the sound Just a silly lifeless girl so young without a clue An obsession with the world now dead she never knew
