Words

The thought of just putting them on one single page

Frightens me

It’s all me

That person is not just a person anymore

They now have a label

Not chosen, given.

Beautiful.

Horrible.

Your new best friend.

Your next rival.

Getting to know those around you

That alone, is terrifying

When you let people through the gates of hell

The task is not enduring

The journey you will embark on is

L

O

N

G

and

Painful.

Throughout the trip

Fear courses through their veins

They hear this

They see this

They run away

I can feel the ashes between my fingertips

They are all I can hold on to

But they grow,

Like mold

Like my words.
