Words can be quite powerful things With all the emotion that they bring They make descriptions more beautiful They make your speech more powerful It all lies in the choice of a word To make the people believe what they've heard My words are meant to inspire Provoke a thought, light a fire I want to move people to tears Make them cheer or face their fears Some folks may find it strange but I just want to make a change In the world we live in today Before I die and go away. I also know that words can hurt I can tell by your tear-stained shirt So now be aware of what you've heard And never underestimate the power of a word.
