Words

The words rolling out your tongue

the syllables I count, 1 - 2 - 3

may have a meaning that will not

drain the blood from my face

before I catch myself

facing the floor

Let my guard down as you try,

succeed but fail

to hear the cry of a wolf

under a moon lit fairy tale

he that grasps thorns and silk

on my palms.
